Appointment files - county and state, 1955-[Ongoing].

This series relates to gubernatorial appointments to state agencies commissions and boards, and to county positions. Each file unit consists of two folders: one containing the appointment letters, and the other containing correspondence offering recommendations for appointments to the various boards and commissions. The appointments file itself contains a copy of the appointment letters sent to the various appointees. These letters are also sent to various other state offices. Included with each file is a note on the legal foundation of the agency board, or commission or county office and a current member list. The files are cumulative and span several administrations.
